It will be interesting to see what impact if any these new domestic arrangements have on Bryan's work and routine. As David Buckley pointed out in his book "The Thrill Of It All" it was around the time of Bryan's marriage in 1982 that he seemed to tire of the touring lifestyle and the companionship of other musicians, preferring to settle down to a family life. As a result Roxy Music disbanded and the 80s and 90s resulted in long spells of little public activity - few albums released, few tours undertaken. However the past decade has seen by Ferry's standards an almost frenetic work rate, particularly when it comes to live work as, like many others of rock's elder statesmen (Springsteen, McCartney), he realises that, at his age, lengthy gaps between projects is no longer an option.
I think we all suspect that last year's Roxy tour was probably their final glorious public swansong as a performing band. Let us hope that their front man still has a few glorious surprises in store for us all yet.
