Very well done, John - and it is absolutely deserved that Phil gets such an appreciation. He played one of four instruments that made the sound of Roxy Music: Bryan's voice, Andy's sax/oboe, Paul's drums and - last but not least Phil's guitar.

Apart from the music he did with Roxy, Andy, Eno and Bryan I remember his influence on Split Enz, Heroes del Silencio and Alice ("Park Hotel", an album she did in 1987 with Phil on guitar and Tony Levin on bass guitar).

Diamond Head, 801 and The Explorers 1st will be forever in my heart. Not to forget his persistence to keep Roxy Music and the memory of this outstanding band alive.

Happy belated birthday, Phil - stay healthy and don't forget us fans who are waiting for things like For Your Pleasure Special Deluxe or a document of last year's Roxy tour 8-) .

Your fan Peter from Germany

Yes well done John. I second everything that you and Peter have said about Phil. Some years ago there used to be a Heineken advert in the UK, saying that it refreshed parts that other beers cannot reach. Well I would apply this analogy to Phil as no one else in the guitar World can do what he does. He's always played for the song as well. I hope he continues to compose, record and play live for many years to come.
