There's a three page article in August's Uncut magazine in which Phil comments on several of the albums he's recorded.

The albums in question are: the first three Roxy LPs; Eno's Taking Tiger Mountain; John Cale's Fear; Quiet Sun's Mainstream; his own Diamond Head; 801 Live; and David Gilmour's On An Island.

Some interesting comments, especially about FYP (the band marvelling at BF's lyrics & Eno getting fed up with being in a band) & 801 (a band designed to implode after 6 weeks and which duly did, with a danger of members otherwise killing each other!).

Would love to help you all out with a scan, but (a) I don't have the facilities and (b) I didn't think the magazine was worth the money, so (tightwad that I am) I read the article in the HMV shop!

Page 1 of the Uncut magazine article. Buy it next time lol :D

Perhaps we could have a thread with scanned images of newspaper or magazine articles from long ago for those of us without such things.

And finally, will someone borrow Phil's insect glasses, put them through a 3d scanner, and make copies of them for sale somehow! :!: :!: :!:

If you are good with your hands it is quite easy to make a pair using the same method that Anthony Price came up with for the originals! 8-)

8-)

Thanks for posting that. I adore all those records save Gilmour's which i have not heard. I find that Quiet Sun, nearly 35 years later is still a brilliant record and everytime I listen, I hear something new. I consider myself very lucky to have a signed copy.

Bill Nelson, a noted nice guy who is very accessible to his fans, commented in his diary that upon meeting meeting Phil, he felt an instant liking.. I always thought that the two o them should get in a room together and see what comes out of it. Guitar heaven I should think.
