I spoke with Phil after the King's Place gig last Sunday and he told me that he's working on a new instrumental album before doing some more work with David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

I'm sure that there may be some 801 or Explorers stuff in his vaults which could be put out, either as deluxe (i.e. with extra unreleased material) or budget (i.e. straight reissues) boxes. I'd love to see these, so if you agree, please make your feelings known! ;)

I just hope he doesn't do any more spoken word/poetry albums.

I'd love to hear a straightforward instrumental album from him with backing from Guy Pratt and TGPT (and throw AM in too!)

The Explorers is a good shout, Smudge. Would be a real treat if they have any hidden footage of the gig they did at the Hacienda 1985 as I was there and took some photos that night too, but would love anything from that gig to either watch or just to listen to.
I did ask on PM's site a couple of years ago about the Hac but only the London show was mentioned in the reply, so not too sure if there actually is any Hac footage lurking in the hives.....

Go and have a deep delve fellas. :)

Nice Pix Helen!!!

But what's more than a bit depressing, is that they are 28 years old... Ouch.

Thanks for the reminder DCJ .... :(

And what's even more depressing than that, are the pics I have from the first Roxy gig I went to in 1981, where I was still at school and had to be accompanied by a sensible adult....of sorts haha

On the plus side, I survived the Thatcher years, I still have a full head of hair and all my own teeth. Hope I can still say the same when I hit my 40's ...
