I succumbed and ordered a signed copy of Phil's new book. Is anyone else on here reading it? Without posting spoilers it does put a fresh slant on certain myths within the Roxy story, such as the ending of the Avalon tour. Even to my relatively untrained eye there are however some glaring inaccuracies over dates which could surely have been spotted and corrected. Still to delve deeper into the non-Roxy parts of Phil's story.

Yes I purchased the signed boxed edition and although a tad expensive really enjoyed reading it. I finished it on Wednesday appropriately Phil’s birthday and did notice the chronological errors where the years don’t really match up. This is common with a lot of biographies it seems and I guess publishers aren’t too bothered about these inaccuracies more interested in the sentiments.

Not to spoil it for anyone but there are good insights into Phil’s background from his south London beginnings in Clapham and his adventures in Latin America from the age of six. Also noticed Phil has changed his opinions on the 2005 Roxy recordings now saying they weren’t up to scratch and not worthy of the RM pedigree.

As the only autobiography we’re likely to see (as mentioned elsewhere I can’t see Bryan writing one) from a Roxy member it’s well worth adding to the collection.

Music and its place within popular culture are measured by years….inaccuracies in the chronology are unacceptable. Sloppy.

Journalist, author and long time Roxy fan Richard Williams has written warmly and with humour in his blog about Phil's autobiography.

This link will hopefully lead you there:
