Apparently Phil has a gig with KING MOB (Chris Spedding's new band) at the end of March in London. Also Mick Ralphs (formerly of Mott the Hoople and Bad Company) is involved. See:

Thanks for the heads up; the gig is local to me, so I'll rattle the door of the box office tomorrow.

The group now has a Japanese bassist, but his predecessor, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols, The Faces etc.) joins the guest list with messrs Manzanera & Ralphs plus Wilko Johnson (Dr Feelgood, Solid Senders).

Add Mr Spedding's talent to that mix and you've got a pretty impressive array of guitar talent!

Details can also be found in the websites of the band itself (www.kingmob-beatgroup.com) and the venue (www.o2academyislington.co.uk/event/3774 ... ob-tickets).

I wish the gig was local for me. It sounds like a fun night. On the venue website it makes it appear that Phil M is appearing separately on the bill (the same with Matlock and Ralphs). Can that be right? Will Phil have is own band or will he somehow use the KM rhythm section? Just wondering.

Back in the day Mick Ralphs was a great guitarist; BadCo got a bit watered down but the Mott version of Ready for Love was a fine track. And his take on Sweet Jane is one for the Time Capsule IMHO.

In response to DCJ's query, it looks to me as though all the guests will play with King Mob.

Phil & Spedding together is always good, but it will be interesting to see if all the guitarists end up on stage together for the finale or an encore.

Got my ticket today. :D
