Wonderful...very 'modern' in places, very MacKay/Manzanera in others...with a healthy dose of 'the Bogus Man' going on in some of The Emperor's parts...would heartily recommend (and will probably add more after subsequent listenings). Just off to dig out my soprano!
My two faves are Blue Skies and Newanna which feature TGPT but the whole thing features touches of their best work together and to quote Phil, it is a real conversation between him and Andy.
I hear a little bit of Avalon as well as some Eno type textures and what I find really good is the way Andy adopts his Bogus Man style throughout./
Its a testament to them both they continue to make great music

I’ve been listening to the CD most days since it landed on the doormat on Saturday. It’s certainly a grower and really embodies the spirit of early Roxy. Phil and Andy are on top form and you can’t underestimate the contribution from Paul either.
Particular favourites are Blue Skies and EGM and I like the way the tracks Yazz and Seth feature the named soloist in the title. The feel of the music is very reminiscent of the gigs I went to in the winter of 2008/9 (can it be that long ago?) when I saw the Metaphors at the Pigalle club and Phil at Ronnie Scotts a few months later.
