Everyone see Brian Peter George St. John le baptiste de la salle Eno last night?

Funky jacket, weird equipment, great sound, dodgy glasses and shocking beard!!!

Still, nice to see him getting out eh? ;)

He looked a bit nervous, maybe it was the "Captain Birds Eye" beard and the jacket that had him worried. :)

It's on youtube:

Eno • Hyde - Daddy's Car - Later... with Jools Holland - BBC Two

What's he "playing" with his right hand?

Bryan has a chair just like that jacket, in paint splash by artist Rolf Sachs, perhaps that was the inspiration.

Debauched Dilettantes,
Stylistically Brian Peter George St.John le baptiste de la salle Eno looked good.
I thought his jacket added a certain frisson albeit, not one to wear for the weekly shop. Thank God it was a paint splash from Rolf Sachs and not Rolf Harris!
On the music front I've never been able to work out if Eno is a genius or just very strange. I loved the stuff he did with Bowie and Daniel Lanois. Other collaborations with the likes of U2 and Cold Play I've found difficult to understand although everybody has to earn a crust.
This Eno.Hyde thing I reserve judgement on until I've heard the album but what I'd really like to see is Eno.Ferry or Ferry.Eno thing or even a Ferry.Eno.Manzanera, Mackay.Thompson thing. Although le baptiste de la sale's new jacket might clash with Ferry's.
Regards,
Windswept

I thought the whole show was great. I didn't like Eno's beard, he looked like Albert Steptoe with the mumps.

Only just catching up on forum , having been away and also catching Eno on youtube. A bit too repetitive for my tastes and agree with all comments - his beard ages him by about 20 years . Yuk !

I enjoyed it and I thought he looked fine, and Hyde actually reminded me of Eno's appearance in his younger minimalist days....

dear lonely dreamer,

eno is playing a korg kaoss pad (left hand) & an alexis air FX (right hand)

http://alesis.com/airfx

both these effects units are used to process signals, just like the ubiquitous VCS-3…

Dear Paraphonix,

thank you for the info! I had seen Bryan Ferry play a korg kaoss pad on a youtube video, but I had never seen the alexis air FX before. You live and learn :geek:

Bye,

LD
