Lots of good & many points.
Bryan would be the one to ask.
It would help the mystery. I called ebay & they don't keep the records after 3 years.
Wonder if MGMT called? Wonder how bad they want it?
As I told John, if a fan bought it, they might be a regular visitor to Bryan's & Roxy's sites and put a note on the main page. I also emailed both sites, & like usual, they didn't reply.
Wonder why they have email links anyway? They should take them off if they don't answer emails, especially when someone wants to help, and a BIG FAN TO BOOT!

That's exciting news bobmedley! Maybe John will get on the case.
I think when the painting appeared on Ebay the seller information said that Bryan had originally gifted it to a university friend or something like that?. I can't recall if that was also the person who was selling it at that point or if it had changed hands again. I think it had "for Jimmie" next to the signature?

That's correct - it says 'for Jimmie' in red ink & signed B Ferry in pencil (and extremely small writing...).
On the back it states;
"To whom it may concern. This drawing by Brian Ferry (sic) was executed whilst he was at Art College and given to his flatmate. It was the original drawing for his first single Virginia Plain"
This note was added when it was sold at Christies in May 1992 - maybe it was 'Jimmie', who knows.
It would be good to find out who he was & where he is now.
