New Manzanera album due January "The sound of blue" featuring Andy Mackay on sax and vcs3 but no TGPT. Probably out before Mr. F's new offering then.

Too bad it doesn't feature TGPT on drums, but no matter. It's great that he's releasing some new music.

I look forward to buying/enjoying it!!!!

Me too. I always enjoy listening to Phil's stuff. That feeling doesn't always last after repeated playing...until I forget what it sounded like and revisit the tracks again. I do rather love the sounds he creates, even if the tracks are often more soundscape than song. Nothing wrong with that.

There's still no news on an official release date for the new album. It's not on Amazon as I type which is unusual for a January issue.
(While I'm thinking about it, that TV show supergroup with Gaz Coombes etc seems to have passed by as well)

According to the interview Phil did with NZ press about his work done on the Floyd album The Endless River (there is a link to the article on another thread but I'll post it again) The Sound of Blue was finished but he's added another (bonus) track and it should now be out in "January, February or March". This was an interview given last autumn so there surely should be some official word soon.

I have had it confirmed that it won't be out on 26th January as originally intimated.

I am told there is no fixed date yet other than 'Spring'
