Sadly I didn't have the undoubted privilege to meet Sjaak Versluis but I just wanted to say I was touched by John's rather sweet tribute to him on the News page. It's a sad fact none of us are getting any younger and those of us with long Roxy memories are of a 'certain age'. Let's hope we're not troubled by such news again too soon.

This is indeed very sad news.

We became Facebook friends soon after November's gig in Amsterdam and last chatted online only a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea that he was ill and he was certainly sounding very positive about the future and looking to add to his collection of Roxy memorabilia.

R.I.P., Sjaak; I hope they play Roxy round the clock in the next life.

A lovely tribute from John on the VRM homepage.

This is very sad news indeed. Only one week ago I spoke with him on a Facebook thread where he was showing pictures of his "Roxy Museum" and it's contents. It was a great conversation with many comments about his fantastic collection. He was a regular on the Avalon mailing list too.

Thank you for the warm tribute John.

Sad news.

RIP Sjaak.

Sjaak will be sorely missed by many, read the tribute as from all of us and not just myself. I just click the keys but the words are what many who new Sjaak would say.

I was chatting with him last week and he was helping me gathering together some items of memorabilia for a project and sent me some great jpegs that may end up on an official BF product that Sjaak sadly wont see.
