Sal Maida, who played bass in both Roxy and Sparks (as well as in Milk 'n Cookies), has written his autobiography and a fine read it promises to be too. However, the stumbling block looked like being the transatlantic shipping cost. e.g. the publishers want an extra $23 to ship each copy of the $20 book to Europe!
The cheapest option might be bulk shipping and Sal is happy to send a box full to me by the cheapest method for onward delivery, once they've arrived in London. He's also happy to sign some or all of them on request. The final cost is hard to gauge (i.e. dependent on level of interest or demand), but it would be non profit making, of course.
So if anyone here would like to commit to buying a copy and paying $20 plus an equal share of shipping and import tax, plus any onward postage costs (for those of you who cannot collect in person from me or one of our mutual friends), I'll happily include you in the order being prepared. Early replies appreciated; thanks.
