I just checked the Chris Spedding website and his gig list for 2018 has him playing at all the BF gigs announced so far for 2018.

See http://www.chrisspedding.com/gig/gig.htm

We're now within about a month of when BF starts his 2018 tour so presumably there have been practice sessions with This Year's Model of the BF Band, so the question arises: Who's in the band?

Any guesses, thoughts, hopes, fears? Just wondering what people might be thinking.

In regard to the TGPT I recall seeing something over the winter indicating that he doubted he'd be playing with BF this year...

One wonders if Ollie T might ever make a return (it seems his solo career has fallen off the radar) but that's simply a guess on my part based upon no hard evidence...

Chers amis!

I think the band sounded so great last year - so why make any changes? I'd love to see both Colin Good - not only the best MD Bryan ever had, but the only one!- and Ollie T back onboard, but I think it's better to forget about them and focus on here & now.
Besides our hero, Jorja is the one I really want to see (and hear!) and I'm very pleased that Chris S, the old fox, is coming along. The only thing I would like to change from last year, would be to put more colour & glamour into the show - and why not reintroduce the dancers?

I have asked the question, I hope it can be announced soon.

Paul Thompson is with Lindisfarne now and I'm sure I saw somewhere that they are on a (short) tour, so very doubtful.

Hedonistic Hipsters & Hopeful Hepcats,

Doubtless, by now the dye is well cast but if Windswept had but one wish it would be for the return of the great Colin Good.

Two reasons; his arrangements are just so magnificent and his keyboard skills are just so far ahead of anybody that The Bonny Lad has had tinkling the ivories either before his arrival or since his departure.

W2 doesn't know what interest Colin would have in what has become principally a rock line up. He obviously adds more value in orchestral or Jazz orientated bands.

Writing this is so difficult for Windswept. His mind turns to wanting a return of the best ever line up and he knows that is not DCJ's question.

Nonetheless , he finds himself duty bound to answer this unasked question. Although W2 believes in his mantras that "All Ferry is good Ferry" and "Roxology is a broad church", he also believes in 'Peak Ferry' and any thinking Ferryista knows that 'Peak Ferry' was reached with the sublime 'ATGB' band.

This, providing they can all fit into those trousers, is the band that W2 would like to see again but with Jorja Chalmers substituting Ian Dixon on sax. Why would one ever wish for anything but the best band our hero has ever fronted?

Now W2 knows that this will provoke a poisonous reaction from the 'Feather Boa Brigade' but his shoulders are broad and well tailored and he can withstand all attacks. Parce que nous devrions avoir le meilleur!

But, given that this isn't going to happen, W2 would settle for a new set list, a more cinematic staging and, if it is allowed, in this #methree, #notinhisname world, the return of the dancing ladies (as the great Oberon suggested).

Mais oui, il n'y a rien de mal aves un peu de glamour for votre plaisir !

We will see what we will see.

Salutations et bon gig.

W2

WS2:
I hope for your sake that Colin G reconnects with BF for 2018. Maybe it will happen (although I seem to recall that CG had lost interest in the travel grind that touring entails...)

For what it's worth, the Chris Spedding "gigs" website indicates that BF will also be playing the following gigs this summer:

May 31 2018 Salle Garnier, Monte Carlo, Monaco
June 11 2018 Metropol Theater, Bremen, Germany
June 13 2018 Musikhuset, Aarhus, Denmark
June 15 2018 Musikhuset, Aarhus, Denmark
June 17 2018 Kongrescenter, Roskilde, Denmark
July 12 2018 NOS Alive Festival, Lisbon, Portugal
July 14 2018 Castell-Cap Roig, Calella de Palafrugell, Spain
July 20 2018 Dolina Charlotty, Slupsk, Poland
July 27 2018 Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland
July 29 2018 Standon Calling Festival nr Bishop's Stortford, UK

I don't know if the Spedding site is accurate, but that's what his site is reporting...

Funny. I’d really prefer for cg to be nowhere in sight.
Steve Nieve please.

Fellow Ferryistas,

Just two weeks before the ship sets sail and we still don't know the crew.

Let's hope The Bonny Lad does.

Salutations,

Windswept
