I am like Richard on this one in that these are not necessarily my favourite albums in order. Sentimental Fool wrote: . But at that time Roxy was already a polished session band... Does that make a band bad? I think Roxy were a good polished session band when they became that. The question I always ask when the last 3 albums get criticised for not being like the first 5 albums is what should have the band have done if the same guys who made Stranded, Country Life & Siren had stayed together another 7 years and made 3 more albums? Every band/musician/creative person has to evolve one way or the other or they just become stale with the same old same old. J.O'B.

Regrettably Bryan's obsession to score hits (especially in the US) forced the band to follow the commercial way, instead of the arty way. And at that crossroad some stepped in and others stepped out...

Not keeping track, but I'd have to say: FYP Stranded Country Life 1st LP Avalon (to "get into it more") Siren F+B (to "get into it more") Manifesto
Also, I give a spin to the b-sides that are anthologized. Sultanesque, Trash 2, and Lover are standouts!!!

1 Stranded 2 FYP 3 Roxy Music 4 Country Life 5 Siren 6 Manifesto 7 F&B 8 Avalon
IMHO Stranded is really special for so many reasons. Phil, Andy and Paul were starting to get the credit that they deserved, Phil and Andy were gettting some writing credits and the very talented Eddie Jobson had joined the band, so Roxy now had a top keyboard player, something they had never had before. Let's not forget John Gustafson too. Yes Eno had gone, but his musical career really took off post Roxy. A masterpiece.

Very difficult...like being asked who your favourite child is (which is why I stuck with just the one!)
Use to be For Your Pleasure
But now it's Country Life...Roxy at the zenith of their powers, both on record and definitely live.

Hedonistic Hipsters, In general W2 plays our hero’s solo masterpieces more than the Roxy catalogue. But to answer the question, his most played Roxy albums are ‘Stranded’ and ‘Avalon’. ‘Stranded’ in no small part because it boasts one of the best back to back trilogies in modern music - ‘Seranade’, ‘A Song For Europe’ and ‘Mother Of Pearl’. Peerless n’es-ce-pas ? ‘Avalon’ because well, it’s ‘Avalon’. One of the finest albums ever made. Any genre. Salutations et bon ete a tous, W2

Got to agree with Windswept 2, that trilogy of Stranded tracks is a whoomph!!!!
But if I was to select an album, its FYP because every track is a winner.....and I've got to say the seque on Siren into Sentimental Fool still gives me goosebumps!
Love to you all.

Stranded is the clear standout for me.
1 Stranded 2 FYP 3 Roxy Music 4 Manifesto (East Side) 5 Siren 6 Country Life 7 Flesh & Blood 8 Manifesto (West Side) 9 Avalon
Sentimental Fool's comment that Running Wild is "Unlistenable" is the opposite of my opinion. I generally don't like F&B, but think Running Wild is the one must hear track on the album.
