On the new rear cover of the Frantic release, they’ve used another early period Ferry smoking a cigarette image , probably the sixth such image used in all of the artwork over the years. He’d given up smoking by the late 80’s.

Avonmore wasn't a sales hit, but with a subsequent extensive and never-ending tour – the venues were packed to sold-out – Bryan will surely have recouped the costs of the album.
There was and is no tour for Loose Talk, as far as I know the worst-selling Ferry album. Because Bryan has most likely completely lost his voice and doesn't want to be on stage as a singer anymore.
Maybe there won't be another new album with Amalia Barratt either.
Honestly: I can live without it.
I recently saw a photo of Bryan with other well-known musicians on Facebook (VRM) at a We Are Family Foundation gig in London.
I was very shocked.
I hope Bryan is in good health. I wish him the best from the bottom of my heart !!!

Bon soir, mes amis, comment allez-vouz? I take a childish pleasure in these colourful releases. I don´t play them as I have the old ones intact, so to speak, but i like to watch them and the handling with a vinyl is like a therapy that, without fail, makes you feel a little bit better. D´ailleurs, I´ve been reading my books about BF and RM during the past week or so. By far the best one is by Rex Balfour. It¨s the ony one written with direct knowledge and it contains so many nice photos of that era. All the others I have, five or six, I´ll give away to a flea market. Salutations à tous!

I’m relieved I’m not the only one to be drawn to the re-releases by the shameless marketing ploy. I’ve still not played Frantic and Avonmore but have handled the sleeves and vinyl just for the pleasure of it.

Just reviewing the re-issues and I’m struck by how generally poor the cover artwork has been for most of Ferry’s solo work, considering the trouble taken for the Roxy Music album covers. The MO seems to be , - picture of the artist ( well ok, if you are Ferry , why not, he’s never been shy of a camera and even in his vintage years he looks good) - ideally vintage, and maybe in B&W , or sepia. - font and text sizes are usually strong
So, my opinion, the last great Ferry album cover was Olympia, ok, together with the Jazz Age. As for the album titles, Mamouna was the last good one, though many wouldn’t have had a clue what it meant.

Bon jour, mes amis! Mais oui, avalon eyes, tu as raison. Mamouna is an exception, especially the re-issue has a great cover. I thought that Avonmore was an all time low, but Retrospectice with itś mug photo might be even worse.
D'ailleurs, any news about our hero? Salutations à tous!

Of course he has the right to retire, but I have been pondering if there are any prospects for 2026. A tour? An album? If so, I would think now is the time for letting us know. I guess he must have some recordings from recent years up his sleeve, and BTW, what about the next Loose Talk album "we were promised"?
