The great forgotten Roxy hit single as far as the live set lists are concerned. All the others get regular airings. "Street Life" - all the time. Even numerous outings for "Pyjamarama". But "All I Want Is You"? Not a sign. Clearly the person who chooses the set list doesn't like this one. What a pity.

Indeed. In my view possibly the finest ever Roxy single. I really can't understand why it's never played.

As a single, it was like an album to me. We had the wonderfull "A" side, coupled with Y.A.F. Ferry said, certainly from that era, "we would always do interesting B sides". None more interesting than this "B" side. Mackay's most outrageous sax solo with Roxy, ever. Phil's chainsaw guitar solo, fantastic, powerful drumming and, the vocalist done well, as well, pet. And all that crushed in to such a small space! Drums and keyboard's great. Just a great, happy, feel good "B" side and single . The best Roxy "B" side ever. I'm off to play it! Wetton on Bass? (advise) Roxy as a band, at their best and, the Eno influences are there as well, if you listen to the last few notes.
On the "Street Life" 20 greatest hits thing, "All I Want Is You" was excluded from that particular, "earlier compilation".

I say "earlier" in that, we've only had another 23 years of the band since then. xx

I would agree with all of the above, the perfect 3 minute single, my favourite Roxy Music single.

Thanks to Fin of the Roxyrama band for alerting us to this rare clip on Youtube. I am sure we have all seen the version from TOTP, October 1974 many times over but this one is new to me. Filmed in Dutch TV studios.

Enjoy!

Brilliant footage, I think BF had been sampling some Dutch hospitality by the looks of him, he appears even more stoned than Phil seems to be on the TOTP's appearance, check it out.

Definitely the "forgotten" Roxy single, probably because it is a sraight ahead rocker with no weirdness to it. Also the best b-side the band ever did, those were the days when you looked forward more to hearing the b than the a-side.

Just watched it again. Jobson has a walking stick sat on his stool. What happened there?

The Country Life tour was my first experience of Roxy live. All I Want is You was the big hit single at the time and the old Glasgow Apollo erupted when they played it. No idea why it has been ignored since then. A fine song and the only big hit that never gets played live. Would be a great replacement to the now played to death Avalon in any set IMHO.

Can I tell you, If I can find a tailor, in Glasgow, or surrounding area, that can get me a blue checked shirt, with emerald green pockets at 45 degree angles, I'll book a job lot.
