Hipsters,
I have absolutely nothing against sponsorship. It's a crucial part of the art & music scene.
My point is that brand values have to align and I doubt that H&M resonates well with Ferry's consumers.
For an artist who is a renowned style icon, it is particularly important that your partners share your values and I don't think this has anything to do with the digital music market. If the relationships aren't well judged it devalues your brand. Doubtless Ferry is good for H&M - I doubt if the reverse is true!
That said, providing he doesn't expect me to wear that shirt, I will forgive him his sins.
Happy Christmas and I hope everybody enjoys next weeks concerts.

I, too have nothing against sponsership today, but I really don't get him doing the H&M campaign. M&S I could just about accept but this one....

The suit looked scrimpy on him and on anyone else but Bryan, would look awful if bought by someone over the age of 25. He probably wouldn't buy anything from thre store himself . As a man well know for his attire I think he's selling himself a bit short. But then again if it brings in the cash and he feels it's a cool thing to do  Wonder who H&M think they are marketing his look to?

From what I can see this is not actually Bryan's gig. The H&M Holiday Campaign is based on "models and their families", the model in question being Tara Ferry.

I would imagine that Bryan was included being the father of Tara and not the primary model selling the line, especially as H&M is aimed at the younger end of the market. I don't think H&M are seriously aiming at the 60+ gent, they are just capitalising on the fact the Tara has a very stylish father!

8-)

That certainly 'throws a different light on things' then.

Personally I think the adverts are excrutiating. Why a multi-millionaire (£30m) is advertising H&M is beyond me. If it was some up-market store I might have a bit more sympathy, but not this.

I was watching a horse show at Olympia on television yesterday and his face was all over the course (H&M sponsored the event).

Awful.
