As reported on the latest news page here at VRM, The BFO have two tracks on the OST for The Great Gatsby.

Nice work if you can get it!

Elegantly Ageing Hipsters,
The great news is confirmed. Music from the hottest session of the last twelve months will provide part of the soundtrack for potentially one of this year's great movies — providing Baz doesn't do another "Australia"!
The success of TJA continues unabated and I can't wait to get my sweaty little hands on the extra tracks!
Now the TJA naysayers must eat their fur boas — the taste tarantula has done it again!
I hope our hero does more film scores.
Regards,
Windswept

Bartender!

Another round of Kool-aid for the assembled multitude, so that we can all quaff deeply in celebration of miracle of a poor 67 year old lad whose dad once cared for pit ponies and who know knocks loudly on the door of fame that only The Graet Gatsby can unlock. And bartender, seen the tab to fair Winndswept2 - known among the cognoscenti at trendy water holes as simply "The Duece" - for he knows that this is but a small price to pay in homage of The Hero.

Ah, but in the moments before the Kool-aid works its charm, I think Wait! The trailer for the cinema masterpiece that will surely be forever known as ("Great Gatsby (The DeCaprio Vehicle)" does not include any ministrations featuring the Bryan Ferry Orchestra. How can this be? I repeat: HOW CAN THIS BE??? But then, as night descends upon my foggy brain I realize, this is even better! Of course! Now the world must wait in anticipation of the film's actual release in order to bear witness to the power, glory, and whatnot that is THE BFO!!!

Blessed sleep and stupor is now upon me...

What are you all about?

"A poor 67 year old lad whose dad once cared for pit ponies"

Far too personal a comment to be made on a public forum. Poor? I think not. If his dad cared for pit ponie's when there was no other work available, and in order to support his family, then he, in my book, was a real man.

Digest it, get over it, and forget "bar tender". In your case, a bar steward would probably be best suited to serve you, one to another.

Constructive criticism, always. Personal refferences no, take that elsewhere please.

Cheers.

Satire. That's all.

And if it's too personal to mention BF's father handling pit ponies in a public forum, then BF himself will have to go back and edit a multitude of interviews he's given over the past decade. That reference is a staple of how BF describes his early years.

Also, my recollection of The Great Gatsby and The Roaring 20s is that the era featured plenty of booze (Prohibition be damned!) and many a barkeep to keep the glasses filled. Alcohol, Speakeasys, and Jazz. It was a potent combination.

I would suggest that Bryan Ferry's account of his father's work down the pit, wherever mentioned, has been said with heart felt appreciation. Not for financial gain, nor sympathy.

Shall we draw a veil over it here?

Isn't Manzanera's K-scope sampled on the soundtrack?

Yes wrighta, in No Church in the Wild which was used in two previous movie trailers so it will be a shame if it does not appear on the CD. They also used Bedroom Hymms by Florence & The Machine and neither appear on the tracklist for the OST CD. They could still be on the actual movie soundtrack I suppose.

There is still the 'deluxe' version's track list to be announced, that could prove to be interesting.

That would make it a Be-Bop "Deluxe" version?
