fellow forumites...
i have seen a few shows on this wonderful tour, and after tonight i am convinced this is our hero's finest hour...
it was a tight, slick set...'can't let go' returned, in the first half after NYC, and everything about the show was fantastic!
the band are tight and comfortable, and BF is positively glowing!!
think i am going to make 2 more on this run of shows...and can't wait!
the way he indulged the band as they vamped the very end of 'editions' was marvellous...hands on hips, shrugging shoulders, smiling, and as they ended it, a final turn to the crowd as if to say 'we are all having a great time'!! so brilliant...
it was a top gig tonight at the cliffs…
Mes Amis,
What a great appreciation!
Our hero is certainly having fun and doesn't he deserve to?
This whole tour has scaled the heights.
In common with many, I've seen the great and the good across the years but nothing compares to this. The level of creativity and musicianship are really a joy.
All the elements are there in spades - great interpretations of songs old and new, restless changing of genres, note perfect band, fabulous visuals and dancers, the atmosphere of the Cotton Club and a costume change to boot.
Elegantly ageing hipsters - this is definitely the gold standard.
Can't wait for Brighton.

Windswept
