Cher J.O'B,
Were you at the RAH?

Sounds like a great bunch of gigs! Wish I could have been there...

Regarding the photo posted above, I note that the baggy pants trend that was ushered in at last year's Belfast show is still in effect.

Its not just BF. Baggy pants are now "in fashion" although no one asked me for input! Sigh.

Cher DJC,
I fear you have sartorially misjudged the situation. A trouser break is not only acceptable but de rigour for all taste tarantulas. After all, we don't want our hero to look like Pee Wee Herman. What is unacceptable is the double break that provoked last years "Trouser-gate" scandal. This once in a lifetime oversight was probably the fault of some hapless trouser maker at Anderson & Sheppard who has doubtless been long ago disciplined.
To your credit, you haven't tried to turn this into one of your conspiracy theories by accusing our hero of depriving Andy Mackay's of his trousers or some other such nonsense but,on balance, I have to concur with the great Sadie's Boyfriend that you are perhaps not the one to turn to on such matters.
Regards,
Windswept

Hmm, I don't think "baggy pants" are is fashion again. In fact, quite the opposite these days. Unless you are a 17 year old skinny boy you might have trouble finding decent trousers that are not skinny fit, slim cut or extra skinny slim cut fit!

For those who are concerned, Bryan has slimmed down a bit, simple. Over the course of the tour he no doubt will have dropped a few more pounds hence his trousers might have a baggy appearance.

It's the man inside the trousers who gave his best to produce two brilliant shows in Scotland and for that I can forgive any sartorial faux pas. ;)

I knew that as soon as I used the phrase "baggy" in re to Our Hero that I would be subjected to some form of chastisement by the DOATF (Defenders of All Things Ferry). Sigh. The life of a Contrarian Poster on VRM is not an easy one, I can assure you of that! But we persevere...

So I went back to the photo and looked at it carefully again. Hmmm. How else to say it? The trousers still look "baggy" to me. I do believe that BF is a true fashionista and that his decision to adopt a "more fabric" rather than "less fabric" trouser is a reflection that baggy pants are on the way in and skinny pants are on the way out. As always, BF is ahead of the curve when it comes to Men's fashions and he provides us with insight into where trends will be going in the coming year(s).

[quote="DCJ"] I do believe that BF is a true fashionista

Cher DJC,
Fashion NEVER, Style FOREVER!
Surely every self respecting ferryista knows this?

Thanks Roxy. Your comment is much appreciated...

WS2, I agree that BF is more a Style Icon than a Fashion Icon, and that is how he is marketed to companies seeking to become associated with his Style.

At the same time he is definitely interested in Fashion and takes pride in not "being-out-of-fashion." So the the "Style vs Fashion" dialectic is complicated when it comes to BF.

At the risk of raising the eyebrows of the DOATF, I must admit that I am not enamored of the LV jacket that BF has taken to sporting at various gigs/appearances. To me, it makes him look old, like he's emceeing some supper club show at a "watering hole of the well-to-do" (to borrow a phrase from Evita). BF remains a Style Icon always, but the LV jacket strikes me as a fashion misstep.

Now I best retreat into my bunker at an undisclosed location. Soon the DOATF droogies will be sweeping the streets, hoping to catch me unaware...
