I wonder if the jazz BFO will be accompanying him, or will it be just the rock band. I'm not sure the BFO jazz tunes will work w/ the Coachella crowd and venue. But maybe. (However, the billing is just for BF and not the BFO). We'll see...

Does this mean that other US dates will be played in spring 2014? Or perhaps the Coachella agreemnt includes a "non-compete" clause restricting other US concerts. We'll see

When BF was ambushed on stage for an impromptu interview at the end of his Proms gig in Hyde Park in September, he said there were plans to take the tour (presumably complete with the BFO) to the USA in spring 2014. Keep your fingers crossed, DCJ...

Smudge:
Last summer he did indeed promise a 2014 US tour. So maybe Coachella is but a part of it.

Something else to factor in is whether his US performances might be tied to the release of his new album, which he also indicated was scheduled for this May. By May, The Jazz Age will have been out for some 18 months - it's not exactly a "new release" anymore. But if he has a new album that he can feature/promote at Coachella (and presumably with national TV spots on the Tonight Show or Letterman or Jimmy Kimmel) he could have a chance to generate significant media buzz and (hopefully) significant album sales and downloads. He'll be at Coachella for two successive weekends, making it very easy to take the short trek up to LA to play either the Tonight Show or Kimmel.

We'll see. But if he doesn't tie the Coachella appearance to the promotion of a new album, it seems like a wasted opportunity...

Well, with the Vancouver gig announced it looks like this will be real tour of North America. Sounds Good.

With Vancouver scheduled for April 5th, this means it will be underway in less than three months.. That also sounds good.
