If you are referring to 1975? I recall that Bryan had some sort of eye infection. You can see it is bandaged and the patch was used to cover the bandage. However, I could be wrong.

It was on an epsidode of Supersonic that he sported the eye patch. LITD & BEB were performed as I recall.
