Mes Amis, Très intéressant. I just love it when one hero interprets another - hopefully this will be a great version. I'm a big fan of the late Robert Palmer. He made a huge contribution to modern music. Other than with 'Vinegar Joe' I only saw him live twice, once in Brighton and the second time at the RAH when he performed his magnificent 'Ridin High' album. He was a great performer and I wish I'd caught him more often. If any of you ageing hipsters haven't heard it, I would thoroughly recommend his last ever album 'Drive'. It's an absolute stonker that saw him revisit his R&B routes. If there had to be a last one, I'm pleased that was it. RIP Robert. Regards, Windswept

Thanks for the recommendation WS2. I'll spotify it now and listen to it on a long journey I'm making tomorrow.
Btw, I'm looking forward to JaM....sounds intriguing.

Though I always was a big fan of Robert Palmer, too, Bryan's cover version could turn out to be better than the original. Very relaxed electronic sound with BF's fragile voice in the foreground. Thanks to J.O'B. for his posting.

Mes Amis, Je suis tout a fait d'accord avec vous! 'Clues' is not my favourite Palmer album but this is a fabulous song and Planoman & RoxySiren's assertion that our hero's voice gives this version a very noir feel is definitely spot on! Windswept will buy when it's released and pocket money is available. Meilleures salutations, W2

This sounds a gorgeous version, dark, sleek and slightly sinister. I can't think of a better interpreter of other people's songs than Bryan Ferry. He is the Sinatra of our age.
