Yes, Colin Good and Ollie Forrest are gone. I`ll miss them, but let`s see what the new faces will bring to the band before further judgements.
Nice to see that Jorja is back!

Elegant Ageing Hipsters & Decadent Diletantes,
Windswept is in shock and is having a lie down in a dark room.
No Good can come of this I fear.
Colin has made an amazing contribution to our hero's renaissance and I can only pray that this is a pandering to the US market were the sophistication of TBFO may be deemed lost on our American brethren?
Thank God I took in AEWBF twice last year!
Hopefully normal service will be resumed for Dublin?
Je suis très inquiet!
Regards,
Windswept
Ps. Would loved to have seen Zav Kats back on bass. Such rhythm with such style!

I can't see CG not being there.

Line up now confirmed with no CG apparently. The changing of the guard? CG has been musical director for all things Ferry and RM since Bryan upped his touring workload in 1999. Will be interesting to see what impact if any his absence has on the forthcoming shows (and the new album).

Quite frankly I'm "staggered" at CG not being in the band. Maybe he's had enough?

The CG departure is a big change. He has been a mainstay of BF's tours and records since 1999

And the fact that OT is also not on board for this tour makes CG's absence even BIGGER news.

Clearly WS2 is in serious shock and I hope/trust that he will survive without the need of medical attention. Knowing how loyal he is to "The Great Man" his reaction represents no small thing.

It sounds simplistic, but perhaps the big changes that have transpired recently in BF's private life spurred him on to totally reconceive his tour band and, by extension, his tour sound. The fact that he has never previously toured with either of his guitarists is really quite remarkable.

So what will this new band sound like? Who knows... I hope there are fans in the Vancouver audience who use their cell phones to good advantage and offer some youtube posts after the concert...

Its the "Can't let go " tour , right. Well for whatever reason Colin Good has been let go.
I thank Colin for his work over 15 years and anticipate a change in direction and sound fo this next tranche of shows.
Stripped down, perhaps. Raw, perhaps. Less polished , perhaps.
Go for it, guys.
Nothing against great production, for the record, As Time Goes By, is, to my ears and mind, a superb peice of work.

Maybe it should be billed as the "They've Been Let Go" tour.

However the sound turns out, BF has not been unwilling to reinvent his band a create something new. I admire him for that.

Forever Elegant but Rapidly Ageing Hipsters,
Although every fandango has to be judged on its own merits I can't help but be full of trepidation.
A strange situation given my tendency to condemn Roxologists who can't get passed the first four albums as 'feather boa lovers'.
I fear that I may become a Ferryista that is stuck in the 'Goodist' era of the past fifteen years!
Perhaps we should all sport wire framed spectacles in tribute?
Seriously, I think the partnership between Colin and Bryan has produced the best ever shows.
ATGB was an absolute triumph. The 2001 Roxy reunion resulted in their greatest fandangos and AEWBF was peerless.
"Where do I go from here, I wish I knew" has to be the question?
Hopefully Colin will continue to work with TBFO and we'll see him in Dublin. I noticed too late that he was appearing at 'The Nightjar' on April 1st otherwise I'd definitely have been along to that.
Maybe he's just having some time out doing stuff on his own?
In any event I hope he is back directing and tinkling the ivories for our hero as soon as possible. Frankly nobody does it like him.
I remain bereft — quel bordel!
Regards,
Windswept

I agree with WS2 and others mourning the (temporary?) loss of CG. That said, where would our man be had he not made the personnel and musical choices he has over the years? All things must change. Who knows, this new direction (assuming it is a 'direction' and not drift!) could be as profound as Mr. Good's impact back in '99? I think the difference now is that there are some mighty big shoes to fill.
Presumably there are no signs of seismic changes in studio production? I can't believe there are many who wouldn't like to see some real changes here in the interests of seeing Bryan heading in a new direction that has, recent jazz foray aside, been largely unchanged for the last 12 years or so.
