Elegant, Discerning Hipsters, Considering the importance of our hero's sartorial contribution and status as a style icon, I would like to propose that vivaROXYMUSIC.com start a forum dedicated to the looks and have threads associated with every album and tour. IMNSHO style and music are inextricably linked and the specificity of each Roxy/Ferry look could be celebrated in this forum with bloggers contributing anything relevant from their archives and commenting as they see fit. OK, not every one's a winner (personally I always thought the bolero look was a bridge too fare) but, in the round, the looks have been fabulous! What do all of you dilettantes think? Regards, Windswept.

I suspect that my grip on fashion issues is fairly typical of most men "of a certain age"; if I started commenting on matters sartorial, Mrs Smudge would probably pen irony's obituary notice!

I am a style god, and I'm up for it!!! (It's just no one agrees with me...their loss). Brilliant idea WS2!

Monsieur Windswept, I don't know if you have had time to peruse all the Vancouver reviews but one in particular had me worried for your condition. I quote:- "Decked out in a smoking jacket that was made out of some amazing upholstery, black satin slacks and that enduring just out of Bentley head haircut, Ferry sounded timeless." Upholstery? Slacks? I fear that would have had Monsieur reaching for his Sampson Mordan & Co silver bottle of Crown Lavender salts! http://www.vancouversun.com/entertainme ... z2yHaoYwKQ

I promise to tread lightly in this new Sartorial Forum brought forth by his eminence WS2, but today I am wearing my Eno - Here Comes the Warm Jets black T-shirt so I figure I've earned a one-day special pass allowing entry into this hallowed hall.
I realize its blasphemy, but I concur that Our Hero's Smoking Jacket looks like its made from the fabric of some trendy sofa in a trendy boutique hotel in some trendy neighborhood haunted by ever-so-beautiful people who only pretend to know who Brian Eno is.
There. Now I feel better.
When it comes to matters sartorial, I confess to being someone who always enjoyed the costumery of Andy M during the glory days of Classic Roxy. Uber-Glam to the Max! But without the "Vegas Showgirl" excess of Early Eno...

The salts have just brought me around but it's clear that these Vancouverites don't know their Berlutis from Shinola. Their only excuse must be that living in the land of the back to front base ball cap stunts you sartorially! We live on confident that our hero will keep his sartorial end up throughout CLG. Regards, Windswept Ps. I dread to think what the audience will be wearing in Vegas?

Where else can such crucially important topics be debated with such skill and insight?
