Although D. Bowies hard rock phases are not my kind of thing, I think it is an exciting version of ITIS. Namely because IMO a pop/rock cover version has to be as different from the original as possible (unless you are playing in a party band ...). Think of all the originals out of which B. Ferry created completely new songs. Remember 1973 when the ironic "A Hard Rain" was a sacrilege to all B. Dylan fans! And how B. Ferry created jazz versions out of his rock tunes. Moreover, he will add orchestral arrangements in Dublin these days (lots of fun to those who will be there!).
PS: My favorite Bowie song is "The Man Who Sold The World", a re-recording from 1995 (with Brian Eno's sonic treatment and a nervous beat). Also very far from the original
