It is Lori. I apologize in advance of creating a unfavorable atmosphere with this post. I am A Rookie Stateside Fan Who was not as informed about Bryan Ferry's Job with Marks & Spencer. I would like to have clarified what the meaning of "A Double gazing Sales Representative " means. As I don't know the meaning of all British Slang Terms I know quite a bit, but just not enough of it.
There are a very SELECT few Male Musicians Who occupy A Class that is worthy enough to be selected to model A Line of Men's Clothes for A reasonably respected Department Store. Then be SIGNED to a Contract and then be hired to do so.
As I stated in My original post the opened this apparent Pandora's Box of a Discussion Thread, A more worthy and fitting male Musician for this cannot be found. As the ONLY 2 other Male Musicians Who can be even be considered in Bryan Ferry's Class and Caliber are Robert Palmer Who is very sadly deceased and Julio Iglesias Both Bryan Ferry and Julio Iglesias Are of the very Elite and Upper Echelon Class of Male Musicians Who have strong reputations for being Clothes Horses. Both Men dress extremely stylish and debonair Who are maximum suave.
With loads of charisma and presence. they have that Je Ne Sia Qua factor in every way going on.
Thinking Women just Love them both.
As for the Style and Colors of the Clothes in question in Marks & Spencer's My Autograph Line of Men's Clothes that Bryan Ferry was hired to model for the Store, I did not find any of them that offensive to date. I thought that they were very nice and quite stylish and not at all on the ugly side. After all did not Our Hero speak this quote some Years ago
" Why would I want to spoil My Mood by wearing A UGLY Suit? " The My Autograph Line of Men's Clothes from Marks & Spencer were not Ugly. In fact I sure wish that the Men in My Country would dress this way! IMHO American Men should be Schooled and Educated in how to dress stylishly and nicely by Bryan Ferry. A proper English Gent He is indeed!
Perhaps the Veteran Fans Who type and post much more eloquent and articulate posts Here than I have so far can educate Me on WHY this Chapter In Bryan Ferry's Life and History was not received that well?
IMHO Marks & Spencer did the WRONG thing by firing Bryan from This Job and effectively releasing Him from His Contract with them. I as a Music and Arts Fan in General understood and got Him on Where He was coming from. He was THINKING like a Artist. A Artists Brain functions in and on a totally different Universe and Plane from the rest of Us. They observe and perceive things and events from a much different level and angle.
He was also SPEAKING like a Artist. They articulate and Intellectualise their thought processes from a A different level and place too.
If I could I would very well put in A Good word or Two for Bryan Ferry to MODEL A Line of Men's Clothes for any Number of Our Stores In The United States Of America He's just what We need Here to bring Up the level of Men's Clothes In My Country.
To answer Roxy's question about where to hang 10 feet by 6 Feet Posters of Bryan Ferry? If He/She has a Basement, hang all of them on the Walls Down in it!

I really did not mean any disrespect Here. I also really do admire and appreciate and respect Bryan Ferry very much as a Person and as a Artist.

Don't worry Lori, I think some of the banter here between some of us has been "lost in translation" for you, a lot of the comments here are said with tongue firmly in cheek

"A Double gazing Sales Representative" is basically a door to door salesman, cheap suit and not very stylish.

The photos I posted are all of the M&S publicity shots that I am aware of bar one which I can't bear to post as it is such an awful photo of Bryan.

The large widow dressing is not actually a poster but a coated fabric hanging which I have rolled up on two wooden poles. The coloured one of him in the grey suit is a paper poster. Sadly, houses in the UK tend not to have basements but if I had one it would definitely be devoted to my Roxy archive and could get all my posters and stuff out of their hiding places and have them up on display. My dream would be to have a music room with everything out on display and in easy reach instead of having to sift through boxes to find what I am looking for. I have a lot scanned onto the pc but not all.
