The tour in Germany has announced a new album and a mix with
"best of hits ". Where's the new album? After Leipzig bankruptcy threatens the next flop. Things that you previously did not know of ... Bryan

The "next flop"? Really? C'mon, Uwe, we're all long used to the ceremonious delay of new albums... that's part of the ritual ;)

Hi Lonely Dreamer,

In advance, I love Bryan Ferry, a life without him is unimaginable for me.

I bought two tickets for Hannover and four for Bielefeld, of course I'll go there, I'm really looking forward i`m happy. But this morning I read again in the newspaper that on this tour, we will hear the new album with a mix of his best of hits. Such items must indeed be coordinated with the management ... and I ask : where's the new album?

Time for the management to give an answer.

Any chance that you could translate what you read in the press and post it here, Uwe?

I'm surprised at the suggestion that any new songs will be played ahead of the album's release, but pleasantly so, if it turns out to be accurate.

Uwe is right. The ceremonious delay stands in sharp contrast to the friendly smiles we see from Bryan at concerts. Does he really need such tricks in order to speed up the hunger for new stuff among his fans?

...or maybe a new album will be announced, as suggested by the German tour advertisement? Sometimes folk are a wee bit cynical here...

What price one day we all wake up and find Bryan has done a U2/Beyonce and released his new album overnight?

My understanding for the Apple deal with U2/Universal is to help push the back catalogue which Universal control. As many of us on here, myself included, have argued ad nauseam the Ferry/Roxy back catalogue is sitting there just waiting to be polished and re-issued with bonus material in a way that would do it justice.

I don't think this is a cheap trick at all. And neither do I think there is anything seriously ceremonious or ritual about it - I was only just kidding. What I do think, seriously, is that these habitual delays are a side effect of the man's artistic attitude to his work, meaning he doesn't just flog out some half-finished stuff only because the press and the nagging fans expect him to. Which is an attitude I greatly respect.

As to the German newspaper article, Uwe, if it's online I'd appreciate a link, or maybe a scan of the print version? - But honestly I wouldn't give it too much credit. German newspapers are under immense pressure, like probably everywhere else in the world, and journalists have less and less time to actually research what they write about, if they have time to research at all.

I agree the PR could be better, but I also understand they prefer to spread positive news. From a PR point of view they would probably prefer to combine the bad news that the album won't come out this year with a positive bit of information like a new release date. If they don't have that yet, from a PR point of view it's probably better not to mention the topic at all.

Hi Lonely Dreamer,

i`m happy to see Bryan again in Germany. And if there is no new album on the tour, it`s o.k. fo me. Then it will surely give reasons.

But it`s not o.k. to announce the tour with a new album, if none is actually visible in wide.

Here is just one !! (for example) by many newspaper articles in which the new album is announced on tour in Germany. I hope the link works, because I have problems with the copy.

Again, it is time that is expressed to management.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the tour ..
