Thanks for the link, Uwe. The article says indeed

Quote:
Vom 24. November bis 9. Dezember präsentiert Bryan Ferry im Rahmen einer großen Deutschland-Tournee die größten Hits seiner Karriere, sowie Stücke seines kommenden Albums.

which translates as

Quote:
During his tour in Germany from 24th of November until the 9th of December Bryan Ferry will present the greatest hits of his career as well as some tunes of his forthcoming album.

It doesn't really literally say the album will be out by then. Theoretically he could also play songs of the new album before it is published. I don't think that's very likely, though. Anyway, I will enjoy the show either way.

Heres' what Google translator came up with:

:Bryan Ferry - Live 2014

The style icon of pop in the November / December 2014 in Germany

Since its first publication in 1972 with Roxy Music Bryan Ferry is one of the most innovative and most stylish musician, songwriter and singer of international pop and rock scene. As the embodiment of the glamorous and romantic worlds of his songs seen enjoying the creative impeller in terms of clothing and cool the reputation of an absolute style icon. From November 24 to December 9 Bryan Ferry presented during a major tour of Germany the biggest hits of his career, as well as pieces of his upcoming album. The German fans can experience Bryan Ferry live in Dusseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Bielefeld, Frankfurt, Munich and Nuremberg.

Bryan Ferry combined in his long career always American glamor with European experience; In recent years, he crowned his outstanding reputation with the great Bob Dylan Tribute "Dylanesque" (2007) and "Olympia" (2010) - a compilation of new compositions and cover versions.
The former art student is involved in the visual aspects of his work and also in the composition and performance of his music, so it's no wonder that Bryan Ferry has created some of the most original, most controversial and most highly acclaimed album art of the last four decades. Among other things, he is responsible for a series of portraits with model and muse Kate Moss, which can be seen on the cover of "Olympia".

2012 celebrated Bryan Ferry its fortieth anniversary on stage as a singer and songwriter, in which he once again and in the style of the 20s with his own jazz orchestra, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra, immortalized his own songs on the instrumental album "The Jazz Age" . As a director Baz Luhrmann just heard this track, was for him immediately clear that no one else than Ferry had the soundtrack to last year's blockbuster Leonardo DiCaprio "The Great Gatsby" write. "A Selection Of Yellow Cocktail Music" then appeared in August 2013 as "The Great Gatsby Jazz Recordings".

As an artist and musician Bryan Ferry has a reputation with the rare combination of being both classic and timelessly modern - a feat that he has accomplished by the legendary recordings with Roxy Music, but also by the breadth and intensity of his solo albums."

The key section says:

"From November 24 to December 9 Bryan Ferry presented during a major tour of Germany the biggest hits of his career, as well as pieces of his upcoming album. The German fans can experience Bryan Ferry live in Dusseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Bielefeld, Frankfurt, Munich and Nuremberg."

Hard to say what BF might be up to re new material. And while it might sound strange that he would release such info in this context. I recall that his first public discussion of The Jazz Age came in a Spanish magazine interview...

Correct Uwe! a lot of praise and credit to Bryan in this article, the Man of Cool, comments regarding the great albums Dylanesque & Olympia for example (their opinion!) etc, nothing new, and of course the above statement, confirming Bryans large tour of Germany between 24. November and 9 December, and Bryan playing the greatest hits of his career as well as some songs form his next album... spot on Uwe..

all the best, Stephen

Let's hope bry's forthcoming album (which will be featured in the upcoming tour) isn't another retrospective collection: "Another Ultimate Collection: a retrospective of Bryan Ferry's whistling and harmonica hits"

PS apologies for late evening cynicism. Only kidding. But it'd be funny if it were to turn out that way, wouldn't it?

But since you brought this up...

...there once was a "Bryan Ferry Moustache Appreciation Society" on facebook, where fans uploaded lots of fotos showing our hero wearing different types of moustaches and beards. That was hillarious, though I'm not sure Monsieur Windswept would have survived seeing it....

P.S. don't know why I posted this, it just came to my mind...
