fantastic single record in terms of Bryan's choices in the past, for instance 'The Right Stuff' or 'You Can Dance'.

Monsieur Windswept aside, am I alone in my fondness for TRS? I've always loved it (and the remixes) and the promo video looks as fresh and vibrant now as it did then.

I have mixed views on YCD - I like the song and it felt like quite a departure at the time, but as a lead single it garnered little or no interest (in contrast to Alphaville that made it to the R2 'A' list). I'm not sure whether that was down to the song or the extent to which the label got behind it to begin with? I think most BF singles (to the extent we still have them as such) have been poorly managed since Mamouna and the Olympia releases were particularly chaotic. Hopefully BMG will be a bit more professional and secure, if not a hit (unlikely), the air play BF needs and deserves (invaluable).

I did indeed make my preorder from bryanferry.com, and thereby received loop de li @320. However, FYI, those who also wish to add it to their spotify playlists, it's now available on spotify up to 320kbps

I know what you mean! But these days I listen to so much music in the car, and 320 vs 128(!) makes a difference :D
Never was able to hook up my turntable in the car :)

No UK Richard, you are not alone! I love The Right Stuff and almost wore out my 12" single version when it came out with playing it over and over. I also have the tiny 3" CD version. I can't wait to hear Soldier of Fortune to see how the Ferry/Marr combination has worked on this track from Avonmore.

8-)

Ditto. Always liked TRS. Marr's tune x interesting female vocals x Ferry vibe.

Loop De Li is now on the Radio 2 playlist (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/playlist?filter=new). It will be good to hear this song getting regular airplay in the UK ahead of the release of Avonmore.

'Loop De Li' got airplay on Danish National radio channel P4 this Friday
24th October.
Btw,it would be interesting to see if this single gets a physical release (which I hope, being a collector of BF/RM-stuff for decades) or
The Great Man decides for downloads only.

Kind regards,
Henrik

Well spotted India - good to see it straight into the 'B' List. Hopefully it will move up a notch to the 'A' list - it's more exposure for the album than YCD garnered ahead of Olympia. He's also in good company alongside the terrific Jack Savoretti.

Why wasn`t "The Right Stuff" a big hit? It sounds like one.
