A pencil drawing would be a distaster.

Agreed dear WS2. Great look on Bry.

Just to throw a grenade in....am I the only one here that loves the Olympia cover? No need to answer...I know that it has few friends. I dig Kate (being a Croydon boy myself), and like the kitsch and boldness of it all. I even bought a T-shirt with one of those session's photos on it (white image of Kate on black cotton). And I hardly ever wear Tees with pictures(just this one with Kate and one of Siouxsie ;-)).

The 1974 advert we were talking about earlier in this thread is currently listed on ebay.

I'm no big fan of Kate Moss, but I thought the Olympia cover was good.

The "controversial" aspect of the Olympia cover IMNSHO was the way that KM gushed on about being a "Roxy Girl" because of the album cover. But it was NOT a Roxy album that she graced. She was on a BF album cover.

Avonmore follows in the long-standing tradition of BF albums (usually) featuring BF photos. It's an OK photo, but weren't there any available from the last couple of years that could be just as evocative?

But whatever, my opinion of the album will depend upon the music, not the cover art...

Another Time, Another Place...... 1974 - 2014.
I am really hoipng there, s some thing quite as energetic as the title track of that album on Avonmore.

Last night I dreamt that 3 retrospective albums were also to be issued... a single, Cd called Boyhood, focussed on the iconography of These Foolish Things, ( images and sounds including later tracks that were ready mades from the 50, s , He's got to go, Elvis covers etc).
The 2 cd album was called Neighbourhood and had the Stranded imagery. Roxy tracks.
The 3 cd album , well, I cannot recall title or content.

Vivid.. eh?

I'm still trying to keep my hope alive that it's yet another temporary placeholder and not the final artwork. Maybe some intern at BF's PR company slapped it together? If it were the final artwork wouldn't it also be displayed on bryanferry.com?

Looks like they've returned to the first placeholder at amazon.de.

Cher Lonely Dreamer,
Windswept is with you. These things must be placeholders and doubtless our hero has fired the intern and is agonising over multiple options.
As a lover of cover art Windswept hopes he gives us something special. His personal all time favourite album cover is 'For Your Pleasure' followed closely by Robert Palmer's 'Pressure Drop'. Both of course, would be considered politically incorrect today but that just goes to show what a bunch of Philistines we've all become!
If there are two things that Windswept despises about the modern world, it is the demise of vinyl and the rise of the digital book.
Both evolutions constitute absolute sacrilege but, he is ashamed to say, he takes advantage of both developments.
That said, he won't disguise the fact that he yearns for the days of smoke filled rooms, when albums were played in their entirety, whilst LP sleeves were passed around and the nuances of every track discussed ad nauseam — those were the days!
Salutations,
Windswept.

I would like to see the Avonmore cover with a more up to date picture but at the same time did think it looked smart and would have made a good bootleg cover perhaps?

I pictured the LP being nicely framed and placed on the wall - so if it does turn out to be the real thing then that's one bonus of it!

It was pointed out to me by Sadies Boyfriend that the font used in this recent version of the Avonmore cover is the same font being used in the images advertising the 2015 tour.
