Avonmore remains my Ferry go-to album. I know its still quite recent , and he has an extensive back catalogue with many, many gems and all from different eras, but I like it more now than I did on release.

I gave it a spin last night. I quite liked it. I feared I had become tired of it, but no. Later on I played the whole Flesh + Blood album. Maybe I was just tired of it, but it didn`t get me. The thrill was gone, but don`t take it as a definite statement. I found meself having become quite used to Bryan`s layered sound.

I know its just me, harking back... As "Avonmore" isn't a popular title not referenced in the title track, I've renamed the track/album , " The Thunder and the Rain".

I recently read an interview in a German hifi magazine where a hifi dealer was asked which vinyl record he would use to demonstrate his new turntables and he named 'Avonmore' because of its superb recording / mixing quality and because of BF's best song writing since 'Avalon'.
