Avonmore is still in the top 100 albums in the UK at 84. I noticed that it was not in Tesco as well. I think they calculate their chart differently because many of the lower placings vary wildly from the UK chart.I remember Bryan being frustrated at the time of 'Olympia' with the lack of presence in the supermarkets. Also I think 'rock' is not in fashion at the moment-bar Pink floyd's last hurrah. Even the once mighty Bowie is celebrating his hits colection going up from 39 to 32-at a time of year when you would expect it to be firmly placed in the top 10. My nephew (17) is into R n B and is not the slightest bit interested in rock. Shirley Bassey charted below Bryan and is now at 89 in the chart. Times have changed. The album is still excellent though!

Oh so it is! Oh well that's nice to know it's still clinging on. And yes times have indeed changed. In January last year Adam Ant released his first album in more than a decade, and it was the week HMV went into trouble. They weren't even stocking the album at the time and it still made it to number 25. Had HMV stocked the album, Mr Ant certainly would have enjoyed a higher chart placing in the middle of your modern day disposable muzak.

Times have changed, that is true. German 'Media Markt' stocked it but not at the special sales table for new albums. Internet seller 'jpc.de' lists 'Avonmore' still at no 27. But it's absolutely strange to see that music albums aren't very valuable half a year after being published when you can buy the same product for a third of the original price ...

On my way home from work I called in to Tesco. 'Avonmore' is their CD album of the week (along with Blue). Also it is in the Tesco chart as a new entry at 31 (a feat it didn't achieve when first released).I notice a new sticker attached metioning all the 4 star reviews.
