Agree, strange to leave out Bête Noir. The omission could have been a simple editorial decision for space.

However, I recall court case with the record company at the time over the album which may still leave a sour memory for Mr Ferry.

It was co-produced by Patrick Leonard (Madonna) and several songs co-written with him which is unusual for Mr Ferry I think. So it's strange that this collaboration is not mentioned even though it was never repeated.

For me, Right Stuff, Kiss&Tell and the title track are highlights. With time some of the album now feel of its time and it does hint of early Madonna. It did keep up his profile in the US however I have often wondered what an alternative production or mix would have sounded.

Great article, though too short, and there could be more gems on his tapes for future release.

As has been suggested perhaps all albums were covered during the interview but it was edited down to fit the space.

When ATGB was released in 1999 I felt that it brought Ferry very much back into the public eye even though it was 1930's music. The tour, the Grammy nomination and think perhaps the following year kick started thoughts about the Roxy reunion.

In January of 2000 I convinced myself that Bryan Ferry would be awarded The Brit Award for "Lifetime Achievement" as the vibes were looking good for him. What happened......................they changed the name of the award to "Outstanding Contribution" and gave to the Spice Girls!!
