Other than a couple of gigs with The Metaphors, I don't think GT has had any involvement with Roxy or BF for 40 years, has he? If that's the case, I don't know why he would have had any expectations of being involved this year.
I don't think it's likely to be a nostalgia trip, otherwise Messrs Kenton, Porter or Maida might have been considered (Messrs Simpson, Wetton, Gustafson & Spenner having all joined the great gig in the sky...), although only Sal is still an active performer, as far as I know.
I agree that Neil Jason is the most likely choice, if he's well enough (I read somewhere that he'd been ill), especially as Guy Pratt will be preparing for Nick Mason's North American tour in September.
Bassists aside, it would be nice to think Eddie Jobson (now transplanted from LA to NYC) might be offered a guest spot on some of the US dates, but, sadly, I'm not sure that the Hall Of Fame induction rebuilt too many bridges...
