Chers amis!

This will be an expensive gift from my wife to my birthday. Good to see that there is material from the jazz period as well. And coloured vinyl is candy for the little boy that is still alive somewhere inside me.
I'm seldom negative writing about our hero, but again, as was the case with Avonmore, I find the cover awful.
Quand même, bonjour de Paris, oú je suis maintenant de regarder le JO.

Hedonistic Hipsters,
We seem to be suffering from an advanced case of threaditus when it comes to our hero’s retrospective so,out of deference to our leader, W2 is addressing his remarks to his original missive.
Cela dit, although ‘All Ferry Is Good Ferry’, this is not what Windswept is waiting for at this stage of life’s fandango.
Monsieur Manzanera wetted W2’s appetite by claiming that The Bonny Lad was hard at work on some innovative stuff that was ‘Out there’ which would have been great.
Failing that, a biography or some DVD releases would have been most welcome or even a re-run of the Smythson notebook would have served a purpose.
Malheureusement , avec cigarette or sans cigarette, this doesn’t float W2’s boat. Musically he has just about everything featured and is sure that any gaps will be filled by the streamers and consequently just views this as a milking of the cow.
W2 espere qu’il y aura de meillieures choses a venir !
Salutations a tous,
Windswept.

Wow ! Chapeau !!!

What a great statement from Mr. Windswept2 and welcome in the club of the disappointed.

In an interview, Phil said that he had worked on 12 new songs by Bryan... but with him you never know if they will be released one day...

Unfortunately, I can't find this post quickly. But I will do it later.

J'espère que ça aussi, Monsieur Windswept. Mais que faire, je suis un grand fan  . So I ordered it although it's of course a milking of the cow ... :? .

Chers amis!

This time I'll go with the great pianoman. I have all BF's releases, but still I "ordered" the retrospective from my wife as a birthday gift. Pas mal, hein? I can't say the new release will speed up my boat, but it will help to make it afloat.
Usually I'm d'accord with my friend W2, but I must say that I don't mind at all if we never gets an autobiograhy or something written by a ghost writer. Part of BF;s charm is his Greta Barbo aura. I understand perfectly his wish to be something of a "mystery man".
Bonne soirée de Naxos. Don't forget the bue moon tonight.

Elegantly Ageing Hipsters,
Pour etre clair, W2 doesn’t decry those that enjoy our hero’s ’RETROSPECTIVE’ it is just that he fears that after his rights, likeness, image & name deal with the ‘Iconic Artists Group’ we will be inundated with such things. They will want to make their wonga back and The Bonny Lad will have little or no creative control.
Hopefully the deal doesn’t include new music.
Regarding Windswept’s favourite topic - the illusive biography- he has to respectfully but firmly disagree with the ever tasteful Oberon.
Cleverly done the biography could enhance our hero’s ‘Greta Garbo’ aura.
W2 recently read the late, great Robby Robertson’s autobiography, ‘Testemant’ and it was completely fantastic. The music just jumped off the page and we had the story behind every song and album.
W2 has always found many parallels between Robertson & Ferry’s careers from fronting a great band to stellar solo work and Robby did himself proud with his memoir.
To have this from our hero would be beyond good and is such a crucial part of preparing his legacy. Few have made such an important contribution to modern music.
Hopefully we will all fandango on for many more years but, as we all know, nobody gets out of here alive and his legacy is such an important one.
Salutations a tous,
Windswept.

Cher W2, probablement tu as raison.
Personally I'm not so interest in BF:s privare life when it comes to relationships etc, but I would likt to know his thoghts about creativity. What are his sources of inspiration and so on.
I'll listen to Bitter Sweer`s version of Boys and Girls during th golden time of aperitife. Bonne soirée à tous!

Looks like there is a new single getting released on YouTube tomorrow at 1pm. Star featuring Amelia Barratt.
Can't wait.

The video for 'Star' becomes available in a few hours but the audio is available to stream now. Hmmm, very different! Will take a few plays I think but BF is most definitely not standing still when it comes to his musical style

The version of A Fool For Love on Retrospective is the unreleased version from the Alphaville sessions.
