Looks like some sites have Bryan’s new album with Amelia Barrett up for sale. Release date of 28th March with the new album having 11 tracks.

Thanks John. Have you heard any sneak previews from the album yet?

Interesting that 'Star' is not part of this release. Maybe it's from the 'second' album we're led to expect this year? Although 'Star' was part of 'Retrospective' released on BMG, this new album is on Dene Jesmond Enterprises' own label, so maybe there are some licensing issues? I wonder what distributor DJE uses with a view to getting this onto record shop shelves.

It'll certainly be intriguing to see and hear how representative 'Star' is of the wide work Bryan and Amelia have been collaborating on.

PS if you Google this release, it produces a result from early January for BF.com, announcing turquoise vinyl and a signed print option, but the page is unavailable. Certainly indicates the website is gearing up for business, though.

I couldn't think of much positive things about Star, but this is even less pleasing for me... the melody sounds to me like a slight reworking of a song by Olympia, is it Tender is the Night...

As Phil said so beautifully in an interview about a year ago: Bryan is doing some interesting but also strange things at the moment.

Now I know what he meant.

To my ears too, 'Orchestra' has a feel of 'Tender Is The Night' about it. This most definitely isn't one to sing along to in the car! But it's certainly "a new chapter" - if 'Orchestra' is representative, the sharpness and detail within AB's words will make it a most thought-provoking one.

Hedonistic Hipsters,
‘Loose Talk’ finds W2 in an advanced state of indecent excitement.
What a brave departure this is for ‘The Taste Tarantula’.
Whilst his contemporaries are on repeat Bryan is bringing us something new and different.
Oh to have been a fly on the wall at ‘Olympia - Studio One’ when this one was in progress.
Windswept can’t wait to listen to the whole album.
Ferry On,
W2

I too am excited about this project - but the realisation that the music is a version of ‘Me oh My’ is slightly worrying. I liked Star because it all sounded new. I like ‘Orchestra’ and I think it works - but the blurb attached to the album implies that all the Ferry music on ‘Loose Talk’ isn’t recognisable as the typical Ferry style … However using a backing track from Olympia kinda of undermines this idea ….
