The most insipid songs get a lot of praise. "How could this song be overlooked?, Why was this song omitted from the album? and stuff like that.

Take 2024´s "Goodbye for Now" by Greta van Fleet. Why isn´t this song heard at every radio station? -blah, blah. Take 1987´s "Another Chirstmas song" by Jethro Tull. -Why wasn´t this....? The fact is that it was released as a single, but it received little airplay.

The simple answer to questions like this is that it wasn´t good enough. Maybe they will understand when they get older.
