Well I’ve had nearly a week with the new album and I absolutely love it. Despite the music being old demos there is something so captivating about them. I think that the demos being left rough and unpolished just adds to the atmosphere of the stories that are being told by Amelia. I get that this is going to be a sort of marmite love it or hate it album by fans but I’m just so pleased that, at nearly 80, Bryan is doing something that he is passionate about. He’s not daft - he knows that this wasn’t going to be a high charting album and there would be no media fanfare but it’s clear from his interviews that he’s excited about this and I’m delighted that he’s done it. As much as it pains us to say it we probably will never see Bryan live on tour again or see him release a traditional album of songs. So I’m pleased that he’s still working his magic and creating his art at this stage of his career. He’s given us so much over the years that it’s maybe time for him to say “you know what I want to try something different which I couldn’t have maybe done before.” Some fans will love it, some won’t. I hope he continues to release material from the vaults along the lines of the Mamouna deluxe release but, equally, I also hope he continues with these projects that go way beyond any Ferry release we’ve experienced before.

Cher Scott, I still haven´t got my copy so I don´t know Loose Talk well at all. Still I find your review and your thoughts about BF in general brilliant, really thoughtful and profound. In a week or so I will be off to Tokyo, so I guess I will look for a Japanese release of the album. Sometimes, Mamouna and Frantic come up in my mind, they add an additional track. À bientôt!

I still have not heard the album. I went to my local HMV on the release date but they only had the vinyl. I bought the vinyl but don't have a new record player yet.
I haven't had time to go back to HMV. I know I could have bought it online and sent to me but just haven't got round to that either.
I just refuse to do streaming as it is such a rip-off to the small artist. My preferred listening of anyone's album is from a CD or vinyl through a decent system (house or car) and playing the entire album start to finish uninterupted.
I have heard some snippets from the videos on line but that's not how I like to hear any album.
Hopefully HMV will have it in and I will get a copy at the weekend.
J.O'B.

Waste of money. Not sure if “into recycling bin” was said tongue in cheek but I certainly hope so considering there was other things you could have done with the album if you didn’t like it.

And that’s because it brings us closer to Ferry’s artistry. He’s had these beautiful unfinished masterpieces ‘facing the wall’ for years and now he can share them with us. It makes you feel involved in the process. Salutations, W2
