Yes, I think if you listen to songs like re-make/re-model and do the strand as examples from the Roxy 2001 onwards and Ferry tours they're a little too perfectly recreated to the extent that you can hear the original backing tracks, live these two songs were always allowed to go off on tangents. If there is something in 2001 was the same, virtually the arrangement from the first album rather than the previous live versions, while it was great to have the old songs back it would be nice to take a few more risks with the arrangements.

Sorry to go off the subject a little but I long for the days when Bryan had to work under time pressure (first 3/4 Roxy albums) as he then produced his best work. As soon as he starts "fiddling" around the result is usually over produced and lacking in real grit. he mst look back at the fabulous lyrics and arrangements on those early albums and wonder how he did it!!!!!

Exactly Graham.

I hope that the divorce and granddaughter-aged sirens have given enough inspiration for unblocking the lyrics.

Providing the tgpt/mackay/manzo: colng g ratio is 90:1, i would happily let colin in the studio.

Looking back, as well as listening to the metaphors recently, I have really been struck by how crucial andy has always been. if he's got a big input, roxy always sounds special.

-Original backing tracks???

Well, that only makes me more convinced that Roxy 2001 could be called a Vegas act. -A packet solution, -same every night. The words on the cover about a cocktail of -hmf!!, -oh, give me a break, -those words were too big for this!!!

I would like to see the following......:

1. Ferry, Mackay, Manzanera and TGPT as a minimum
2. Eno - sonics and treatments
3. Split writing credits plus one or more attributed to Roxy Music and Brian Eno
4. Plus one bass player - Guy Pratt

......but think we will get

4. Bass players - probably Guy Pratt and maybe Marcus Miller
5. Extra guitarists - combination of Leo, Ollie and Chris and possibly David Williams (he was around for the tour which was linked to the album I think)
6. An appearance from Andy Newmark - maybe additional drums
7. Some backing vocalists - Sarah Brown is a cert
8. Something from Lucy Wilkins
9. Somethingfrom Julia Thornton _ AM is a fan too

....and hope we don't get

10. Colin Good - sorry but...............

And I would go for a cross between Stranded and Avalon

Would be very surprised if it happens soon , if at all... Let's face it .. "Working on a new album" seems to be the buzz as far as news of BF's career is concerned ... There was the "You Tube "Video ... JO'B's teaser about "the red light in the studio" on this website [ pretending he's as much in the dark as everyone else ......NOT!].. The new BF website ........Let's hope it's the right thing to do creatively... Despite the pressure to stay loyal to the band ...
More confusing ....The team behind the new website seem to have mistaken photoghraphs of the new Roxy in the studio....for Bryan Ferry solo sessions .......Oh , and, a slight suspicion..... some of his family might be in his band now.

Firefighter, what a wonderfully poetic description. Come on Bryan, how can you let him down after a piece of writing like that!!!!!!
