As I've said on a previous thread Lat night as the O2 was great!
On a slightly different note I just wanted comment about a thought I had.
The gig wasn't cheep last night and as a man of 30 I felt like one of the youngest. I certainly didn't feel I could afford the 2001 tour when I was 21.
I'm guessing the tax bills for the gang are all now paid and it'd be nice to see them do a tour that the under 25's could afford.
Being a Glam fans since Suede, Placebo etc appears and having seen the circuit there are no end of young eyelinered fans who are well versed in the Roxy but wouldn't go near the arena circuit, esp at that price and with no standing tickets.
Playing a venue like the Kentish Town Forum or Koko would be a good balance and if advertised in the right circles could attract a new generation of fans as well as giving the hardcore a chance to see the band in a more intimate venue.
Maybe that's why the Glasgow shows seem to have gone down so well. 2 nights in a proper 3,000 seater venue built to be a concert hall rather than 1 night in a 10,000 shed that is SECC hall 4. Oh for the dear old Glasgow Apollo!!!!!
No sure about 2001 but they played the Koko Club in Camden 2005 - I was there
Wednesday 8th June 2005 KOKO Club, Camden, London, England.
