Outside cover: For Your Pleasure...definitely my favourite Manifesto...love all those manequins Avalon...appeals to the romantic in me
Inside cover: Roxy Music...great shots of the band. To me all the band look wierd (Bryan's pose and quiff is just great) except Graham Simpson who looks like someone's older brother...which is strange considering he apparently went off to India to study Sufism.

It really is a mystery about Graham Simpson, That playing on the debut album is unbelievable, What I find rather odd is that apparently he was having a nervous breakdown and stopped talking to the rest of the band, I wondered how Therefore That the story of Sufism came about, any ideas on this anybody?

The single most "essentially Roxy" cover shot is Amanda Lear and the For Your Pleasure panther, but taken as a whole with gatefold interior shots/colours/artwork/imagery the best sleeve is Roxy Music...incidentally, early versions of the first album show that the music publisher was "Buggane Music". A Buggane is a troublesome and frightening giant in the Celtic mythology of the Isle of Man and appeared there because Roxy's manager at the time was a Manxman, Sam Alder (the eponymous "Telegram Sam" of T.Rex).

For Your Pleasure without a doubt (but then I'm not a man!). Somewhere somebody said Principles are selling a dress with the FYP pic on it. I checked. I think it's a long tee shirt - mine's ordered..........
I wonder if this might get the younger generation into Roxy?

My daughter Guerlaine (now 25), is also into Roxy and wanted the dress/long tee-shirt, but says she tried it on at Miss Selfridge, and reports quality & style really not too nice ....

Interesting post kipper. I thought telegram sam was a reference to a stateside drug dealer tho. Of course bolan may have fused the name with the character.

I'll be the odd-one-out and say my favorite is Flesh+Blood.
I love that girl (looks like same girl in 3 poses to me).
Shame we never got her name...unless someone out there knows it.

i used to dislike f+b but now i like it. it's obviously olympian. but i think it's the berlin olympics with riefenstahl influence...bf always had a penchant for that imagery after all (as is clear post His M&S and tabloid over/mis-reaction to his once-time quote)

"Flesh + Blood" definitely has the best cover.
OK, I`ll admit that it`s because I often think that it`s their best album. It communicates in a consumerist society, as does the music. Maybe the cover has some arty third reich overtones, but you have to be very learned to get that.
The other covers are nice too, save for "Country Life". The music is great, but I`ll go for the American version with just the pine trees!!!!!!!!!
