Arcade Fire were great last night and the weather was dry!

We got there just as the support came on stage and entry didn't take too long. It was different from BF's show though as we had standing tickets and our Q was going slower as we had to get wrist bands on which won't be the case on Saturday. Although it is set out for 8-9000 seats it doesn't feel too big as the tiered seats are on quite a steep rake. Not all the seats are used due to the stage set up.

AF came on stage at 9pm and finished at 10.35. I imagine it will be around the same times for BF. It is dark by 9pm so the screen images are seen really well. The temp dropped by 10pm but it was only then I put my jacket on, till then I just had my shirt sleeves. By the end of the show it was cooler but there was only a slight wind which helped. Also, we were standing around the halfway point in the crowd all the bodies help to keep things a bit warmer and you can move about to keep warm. We got out pretty fast but we were near the back by then. I don't know how long it will take if you are up in the tiered seats.

The weather here today is dull and trying to rain.

Tomorrow's forecast is meant to be dry with white cloud so looking good.

A couple of photos from last night to give you a taste for Bryan on Saturday!

Thanks for the info on Arcade Fire last night. I could quite clearly hear them and I live about 3 miles north of the Castle.

Here's an interview with Bryan from yesterdays Scotsman. In it he says Vienna has been his favourite show so far. I was at that one too. Hopefully after tomorrow night he rates the Castle as his new favourite.

@steve: ok, see you in the pub! Enjoy the concert! I wasn't in Dortmund by the way.

Thanks for the info Roxy! What row were you seated/standing? I've tickets for the 9th row on the right. I think its where you were standing. Are you going tomorrow also?

Looking forward! :)

Hi John,
We mentioned The Ensign Ewart as pre-post show pub, nearest pub to the Castle (521-523 Lawnmarket), but I am not sure if anybody is coming up there. I am not sure if I am coming around 4 pm or later because I will also do some sightseeing in town and get my things to the hotel etc.
After the show it's Deacon Broadies Tavern (435 Lawnmarket)! Maybe we'll see you there! :)

Brilliant show in Edinburgh last night. No long queues to get in, no rain, great crowd, sound. Bryan may have said that Vienna was his favourite show (so far) but having been there and Edinburgh last night, there was no contest, Edinburgh was way more enjoyable. Great setlist too!

A few photos.
