JOB, Sadie B, Smudge and everyone here who is going have a great time and I hope that Bryan, Paul & Co will put on a great show. It would be great for you to hear some long lost treasure from the archives.

We are gutted that we can't make the trip down for the shows :( For various reasons we just can't do it this time around. I kept thinking that I would have given in to my heart but the sensible head has overruled on this occasion.

Looking forward to hearing the reports! :)

PS, If Bryan was to do "All I Want Is You" clear a space around SB in case he passes out!!

8-)

I wont be there, I had family commitments booked before these shows were announced and coupled with work commitments I just can't go.

Have a good gig(s) to anyone who is there.

J.O'B.

Looking back on previous posts in this thread, I think I fared better than most (although perhaps I set my sights lower!); What Goes On reappeared and I finally got to hear Hold On I'm Coming performed live.

Hopes/plans to meet up with J.O'B (again) & Sadie's Boyfriend (for the first time) sadly failed to materialise, as other commitments prevented them from scaling Hadrian's Wall. Will look forward to that another time.

Mind you, the Empire was so packed (I'm sure they must have oversold the standing tickets) that I had a job to find space to stand on my own, never mind in company. At around 5'8" tall, what I really didn't need was a group of guys around 6'2" right in front of me, even if it was Tara & his mates!

It was therefore more of an audio performance for me (I'll arrive earlier on Thursday and hope for visual too...), but nevertheless enjoyable. Watchtower & Editions Of You were dropped from the Berlin set list, which retained slightly too strong a Roxy flavour for a solo gig.

BF sounded a little husky, but seemed to be enjoying himself and the band was on good form, especially the two guitarists. Spedding, TGPT & Jorja got the most rousing receptions during the belated band introductions.

Standout performances for me were the pair of Dylanesque songs, Casanova & Hold On I'm Coming. I suspect Thursday's set list may be the same, but it's hard to complain when it's played that well.

Finally got to meet Spedding briefly later on and managed a few words with TGPT as well; what a nice bloke he (TGPT) is too.

Final surprise was being asked on the late bus, by a lady I didn't instantly recognise, if I was Smudge! Turned out to be a charming VRM member named Maggie, who had entrusted me with the task of videoing (on her phone) BF signing her copy of Olympia at Selfridges last winter; small world sometimes...
