Fans of the eternally stylish Mr Bryan Ferry will not be disappointed with the Olympia remixes that are flying around on Virgin/Astralwerks Records. For his Olympia album om 2110 Sir Bryan of Ferry collaborated with the likes of Groove Armada , Scissor Sisters, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, Nile Rodgers of Chic, Mani from the Stone Roses and Primal Scream.. I could go on but you get the picture. Now, various remixes that have come out gradually over the last twelve months are being collected for CD issue ( but you can download them now from iTunes).
Alphaville comes in a most sublime mix from Todd Terje, making it into a whimsical, disco number with glockenspiel . So gorgeous.
Then there this BF Bass( Ode to Olympia) the West End Wolf Remix, , which sounds like Massive Attack meets Avalon -era Roxy Music.
Its pure sexy with Sir Bryan sounding top drawer. No Face No Name No Number in the John Monkman mix has a surpremely dreamy side of Ferry which could almost be a track by Air.
Then Reason or Rhyme, , Metamorfozy mix is succulent and very lounge lizard , sounding a bit like Gainsbourg, but 100% Ferry. Theres twenty remixes in all , also including Pilooski, Fred Falke, Richard Sen, Boogie Corporation and the fabulous disco version of Alphaville by Time + SpaceMachine. Hear them on line at
