The photos on BF's website looked interesting, so, in the post-gig euphoria after Shepherds Bush, I've booked to go to Berlin.

Cheapest flight option was early on Sunday 8th January, though, so I'll be catching the very last day of the exhibition (which they'll doubtless bring to London, now that I've coughed up to view it in Germany!).

Would be interested in any reports from those who see it before I do; I'd be particularly keen to know what video footage is shown as part of the exhibition and what merchandise (if any) there may be. Thanks.

Just back from a cold & wet Berlin, where I caught the final day of the BF expo. Glad I went, although the display was a little smaller than I'd hoped.

Admission was free, but there was the usual array of merchandise available for purchase (e.g. t-shirts, CDs, tour programmes); the only item I hadn't seen before was expensive and not overly tempting, i.e. 50 or 60 euros for a signed Dylanesque LP.

The corridors at one end of the main open plan room had the bulk of the BF & Roxy pictures, a mixture of the familiar and the unseen for me and most of which had been created as blocks and were simply hooked on nails. A handful were (disappointingly) missing and I was told that they were "probably in the office after being knocked down"...

There was an ante-room with half a dozen large (about 36 x 24 inches) framed black and white photos of Kate Moss from the Olympia shoot. These were beautiful, but still eclipsed by one wall at the end of the main room which had 8 brilliant silver framed colour photos (about 18 inches square), one for each Roxy studio album; some were the album cover shots minus the writing (i.e. band name or title), while others were similar shots from the same sessions.

The middle and other end of that room had slideshows projected on to 6 small screens; only one screen changed at a time, so it was easy to take in the views, many of which were new to me.

The second, slightly smaller room had a larger screen where the video film was ultimately shown (I was told that it might not be run on Sunday, but they kindly relented when I mentioned how far I'd travelled!). This was a 90 minute to 2 hour loop consisting of a fair amount of familiar stuff (e.g. The Making Of Olympia film, vintage single promos etc.) plus some items which I hadn't seen before or had forgotten (e.g. a couple of numbers from the Olympia tour ,a short interview with BF & Anthony Price etc.).

All in all there are far worse ways to spend a wet Sunday afternoon than 3 hours or so watching old BF & Roxy videos, then strolling around such iconic images (J.O'B, please remind "the management" that this is still a coffee table book waiting impatiently to happen! Another 40th anniversary opportunity maybe?).

The 100 page (English language!) Electronic Beats winter magazine has BF on the cover and 9 pages of BF inside: photos (including some which were in the exhibition) plus the interview by Dieter Meier of Yello which appeared in their website.

I brought back a spare copy of this heavy brochure-style magazine, so please PM me if you would be interested in exchanging a live recording or something small for it.
