New Town might work pretty well as a duet with Anna. What do you think?

A great suggestion, "Newtown" would be perfect.
I saw Anna Calvi at her Brighton gig - she was tremendous. I can see why Eno got so excited about her. She would be divine with Ferry and you've nailed the track - perfect!
Any other duet suggestions out there?

I quite liked Bryan & Michelle Cobbs singing Ladytron together on the Bete Noir Tour.

I liked his version of "She" with Charles Aznavour and the sailing songs he cut with Antony for "Rogues Gallery" - albeit I thought the Birkin affair was a little lack lustre

Haven't heard the Aznavour duet, but found the Birkin one hugely disappointing, perhaps because the original version of the song was beyond improvement.

I'm afraid that BF's contributions to Rogue's Gallery (and indeed the entire 2CD set) only reinforced all my worst prejudices about folk music (didn't Billy Connolly once describe a folk group as "four chunky jumpers singing songs about dead lifeboatmen"?)!

If anyone wants to show their openmindedness and try Rogue's Gallery on the cheap, or (better still) in exchange for a bit of live BF or Roxy, just let me know.

None of which alters my view of Roxy Unplugged or BF Stripped Bare as an overdue opportunity; just not sure about the duets idea...

I agree completely about the Birkin adventure albeit, I do think she has other redeeming features. "Rogues Gallery" on the other hand, I liked. It was rough and ready as those songs should be.
Anyway, so fare, it is Avondale's brilliant idea of having Ferry duet with Calvi on a stripped version of "New Town" that wins inclusion in this fantasy album.

Well, I absolutely love the Dream Home duet with Jane Birkin, in keeping with what started this thread off, it is "stripped," and that album is great - hence my moniker.

I recall an Alison Goldfrapp interview where she was asked who she would like to make a single with, and she said that after contributing to the Frantic album she found BF's voice fascinating and that was her dream choice. Would be great, especially with the electro-tinged glam of Goldfrapp's earlier stuff.

Dream duet tho'? It has to be Bryan & Bowie, in an ideal world they should re-work one side of Ziggy and one side of the Roxy debut, alternatively, as it's 40 years since Aladdin Sane and FYP, one side from each of those rather splendid albums.....

Sorry we don't agree about Birkin. I wanted to like it and I warmed to other tracks on that album but that one just didn't do it for me.
I think the Bowie idea is inspired - if you had to pick one track for inclusion in the "Stripped" fantasy, what would it be?

Belated thanks to Ian S for those links. The first one (is it from Aznavour's Duets CD?) was a bit of a shock, with BF's voice paling next to that of a significantly older man (when I saw BF at Olympia last June, the theatre was advertising something like a three week run of Aznavour gigs...).

However, the second clip (from Cannes in 2009, I believe) was much better and the trio with Colin Good & Ollie was just the sort of unit many of us were thinking of for an "Unplugged" project.

As a song, "she" doesn't do a whole lot for me. Cloying and syrupy are the words that come to mind when I hear it.

That said, these tracks reinforce in my mind the way that BF's voice is now best served by relatively understated, low-key backing tracks - aural situations where he does not have to fight/compete with/against a loud band.
