As a fan, what do you think about it?

Uploaded by Oreo on Feb 24, 2012! What?

hmmm  how sweet it is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rJ8JZMtsqtk#!

I'm getting numb. Not sure, but I s'pose it was done for a reason.
Some rocks stars/bands have done it, and have been accused
of selling out.

I'm still thinking about it. It does kinda suit the commercial.

Business is business.

Opinion?

I think You Are My Sunshine will be a perfect follow-up for this campaign...

I've never been a big fan of Oreo cookies - when I was a kid I favored its competitor Hydrox. Do they have Hydrox in Europe? Just wondering...

But a bag of Oreos is something I might conceivably buy, as opposed to a $3,000 wristwatch which is a total non-starter for me.

And I'd much prefer that it do this kind of gig rather than play private shows for creepy Russian Oligarchs!

Hydrox? Is it water-based?

I agree what you say about those "creepy Russian Oligarchs".
I'm not agreeable with Bryan playing for a man that wants
a world government. Hear me Bryan?

"This note's for you". Neil "Hurricane" Young.

I wonder who decided on the oreo commercial?

I'm still debating on it. Good for promotion I guess.
Some people who've never heard it before will say:
"who's that"?, find out, and become a fan.

I'm sure the record company will get a spike in sales,
hits on youtube, website. Wonder if they do web analytics?

Apparently Hydrox cookies (1908) predated Oreo (1912) and Oreos were actually a a rip-off of the Hydrox concept. Check out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrox

Hydrox were crunchier and they were indeed great for dunking in milk!

"This Note's for You" was an insightful take on the commodification of our musical heritage, but let's be real. Music is a business and there are simply different levels of how much a particular artist wants to commercialize his/her brand.

I'd prefer BF help sell Oreos rather than shill for over-priced luxury goods marketed to people who have too much money for their own good.

Never heard of Hydrox cookies! Were they from the UK?

Good point about "ver-priced luxury goods".

If the commercial will brings new fans, it's all good.

I know when I first heard Roxy Music, it was Love Is The Drug,
I knew I was hooked for life, and before I met Bryan, I had a
dream I met him in an airport, then poof! I met him on the
Mamouna tour with then Mgr, David Enthoven.

The only reason I met him was because I went with a stunning model I used to date. Before the show, I went to the loo, & upon my return, someone had given her 2 after-the-show-passes.

During the party, I met David Williams (RIP David!). Bryan & David E. left early. My friend went home, and David W. wanted to party
some more. Montreal is famous for after hours bars, and boy! Did we party until 5:30 AM! What stories he had. What a great guy. What a guitarist!

I'm rambling...

Cookie anyone?
party!

Can you imagine Bryan using "Can't Let Go" for a velcro commercial?

Oreo cookies is enough for me. now every time I hear "You Do Something....I'm going to think of having cookies & milk!

Bryan, please! Don't spoil, the thrill of it all!

Hipsters,
This is a disaster. What is our hero doing?
One of the greatest talents in the history of modern music is dissipating into an unsightly over commercialised brand.
Over recent years I've turned a blind eye to a low life partnership with M&S, appearances on every chav TV program going, a fandango with H&M, matching his and her scarfs on the ski slopes and now, to cap it all,a cookie commercial!
Sorry guys but I'm exhausted. My sons are rolling around on the floor in fits of derision.
I will have to retire and play my Chet Baker CDs.
A disillusioned Windswept.
