Noticed on the adverts for the festival that sharks are on further down the bill, Spedding will be busy

I may be there depending on work commitments. I am reliably informed the band line up has an interesting change.

Judging by the rest of the bill on the relevant (Vive Le Rock) stage, I imagine Sharks is the punk band from Leamington Spa (see Wikipedia), rather than anything Spedding-related.

Pity in a way, as King Mob (which includes Sharks - 70s version - vocalist Stephen W. Parsons a.k.a. Snips) has no live dates scheduled. Now a Sharks reunion including ex-Free bassist Andy Fraser really would be something!

Bought my Guilfest ticket today, so will be J.O'B spotting!

Looking forward to it

John, is Johnny Marr additional to the band or is he replacing anyone else?

Sounds like it will be a good show!

Strange, but yesterday, for the first time in a looonnnggg time, I was driving around listening to the Smiths first album (produced by John Porter - there's a Roxy connection). Overall it's not such a great album IMHO (at least compared to other Smiths' material), but JM's guitar playing is the highlight.

JM's participation in a new BF album is noteworthy. All I want with a new BF album is that it truly be NEW and not - as with so much of Olympia - a reworking of older tracks where newer stuff just gets layered on and on and on. Let it be a FRESH new album actually recorded in 2012. And let TGPT be the primary drummer.

A return to the Bete Noire sound via JM could be rather engaging.

With no Roxy album on the horizon for the foreseeable future, I could settle for a REALLY new BF album. And if JM helps make it happen, that's just fine...

Agree with all these sentiments...and I will be there Sunday.
I was disappointed by the last BF gig in shepherds bush (sorry to say that ), so I hope that JM lifts it. I'm packing gore-tex btw. Sacrilege I know...at a Bryan gig of all places.

We were almost knee deep in mud last weekend at T in the Park so I hope the Guilfest weather is kind to you all!
