Strange, but yesterday, for the first time in a looonnnggg time, I was driving around listening to the Smiths first album (produced by John Porter - there's a Roxy connection). Overall it's not such a great album IMHO (at least compared to other Smiths' material), but JM's guitar playing is the highlight.

JM's participation in a new BF album is noteworthy. All I want with a new BF album is that it truly be NEW and not - as with so much of Olympia - a reworking of older tracks where newer stuff just gets layered on and on and on. Let it be a FRESH new album actually recorded in 2012. And let TGPT be the primary drummer.

A return to the Bete Noire sound via JM could be rather engaging.

With no Roxy album on the horizon for the foreseeable future, I could settle for a REALLY new BF album. And if JM helps make it happen, that's just fine...

I would love to see Paul as primary drums on any new recording, after the Dylan & Olympia stuff it's got to be his turn hasn't it? Paul has been quiet of late and not making many appearances on his forum. However, Cherisse Osei has said that she has been in Bryan's studio so????

As for the RM album, heard Bryan asked on a radio interview in Iceland and his words were "I shouldn't think so, don't put money on it"

Live in hope.........................

Any new Roxy material is dead in the water now, I'd be very suprised if they (Ferry,Mackay,Manzanera) work together again in any meaningful manner, the vibes from the last tour seemed more similar to the avalon tour than the 2001 tour.

Work and family commitments mean I can't make it to Guilfest, enjoy it anyone who is going.
